New York Law Allows Breastfeeding As Reason To Postpone Jury Duty

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A new law in New York state will provide relief from jury duty for breastfeeding moms.

The newly signed measure allows nursing mothers to delay jury service for up to two years.

Anyone who wants to postpone must submit a note from a doctor.

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, 17 states and Puerto Rico already have similar laws in place.

The law takes effect immediately.
