NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — New York State’s Education Department has canceled Regents exams and modified graduation requirements.

Students who were scheduled to take the exams will be exempt from passing this year’s assessments.

Seniors who are currently enrolled in Regents courses and earn credit by the end of the school year will receive their diplomas.

Those who fail the course will be allowed to make it up in the summer in order to receive a diploma in August.
