SUV Hits Officer, Leads Police On Chase Through 2 New Jersey Towns

RINGWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A police chase that started overnight in Ringwood, New Jersey ended one town over.

Chopper 2 was over I-287 in Mahwah early Wednesday morning as police searched a white SUV.

Police said the driver hit an officer on Skyline Drive and then drove off, leading police on a chase.

Northbound traffic was stopped on I-287 as police searched the vehicle.

The officer's condition is unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
