TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — New Jersey hit a milestone Friday in the battle against the coronavirus and the race to get people vaccinated.

Gov. Phil Murphy says the state has reached a big goal two weeks early.

New Jersey has fully vaccinated 4.7 million eligible people. That includes people who live, work or study in the state.

The original target date to hit that milestone was June 30.
