Suspect Accused Of Stabbing Eric Adams Campaign Volunteer Charged With Attempted Murder

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD arrested a man accused of stabbing a campaign volunteer working for democratic New York City mayoral candidate Eric Adams.

Police arrested 34-year-old Gary Oliver and charged him with attempted murder.

Video shows Oliver, who is homeless, being walked by officers at the 40th Precinct in the Bronx on Friday morning.

The attack on June 20 followed a dispute as the campaign volunteer was canvassing along Morris Avenue.

The 42-year-old victim needed surgery and is now OK.
