NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Help is on the way for tens of thousands of CUNY students who are having trouble paying tuition and fee balances racked up during the pandemic.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced a debt forgiveness plan to eliminate $125 million in unpaid debt.
The program will help at least 50,000 City University students.
The program will also offer student emergency grants for those who didn’t accrue debt but who still experienced financial hardship due to the pandemic.
