New York's Sunrise Wind Project Awarded $86 Million
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Gov. Kathy Hochul announced $86 million for New York's Sunrise Wind Project on Friday.
The money will go towards constructing wind turbines.
It will create 230 jobs in construction and steel manufacturing for the capitol region and western New York.
This is the state's largest single offshore wind supply chain award and supports the goal to develop 9,000 megawatts of offshore wind by 2035.
