ELIZABETH, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — The Justice Department has obtained a $4.5 million settlement from a landlord in Elizabeth.

Joseph Centanni agreed to pay the settlement stemming from a lawsuit concerning his alleged sexual harassment of tenants and housing applicants over more than 15 years.

It still must be approved by a federal court.

It’s the largest monetary settlement the Justice Department has ever obtained in a case of alleged sexual harassment in housing.
