Date Ideas For Fall In New York City

Your summer love doesn't have to end after Labor Day. Looking to extend your fling into an affair for all seasons? Well, we can't guarantee a fairytale ending to your romance - but we can certainly help. Check out some of these recommendations for romantic autumn evenings in the Big Apple.

A Central Park Picnic

Cliché as it might be, Central Park may be the ultimate date spot for New Yorkers. Pack a picnic for you and your date and find yourself a cozy spot for two. With 843 acres, there's plenty of room for options. The Great Lawn is a good bet – plenty of space for privacy, but great opportunities for people watching. Plan to get there around sundown for a great view of the sunset over Manhattan - but remember to pack an extra blanket to keep warm in the autumn air. Enter at 79th Street (hop on the B or C train to 72nd or 81st Street).

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Take a tip from New York City's ultimate power couple and hit up a local baseball game. Check StubHub for cheap tickets to a Yankees or Mets game!

If you decide to head to the Bronx, grab a drink or a bite before the game – try Gleeson's Sports Bar & Grill for wings and $3 Coors Lights, or Yankee Tavern, where Yankee greats like Babe Ruth and Yogi Berra used to kick back with a cold one.

At CitiField, try McFadden's for a meal or drinks (or both!) before the first pitch. The Irish pub serves up traditional American game day favorites. After the game ends, head back for a vibrant bar scene.

Chelsea Piers

Escape the chilly temperatures and head inside for bowling at Chelsea Piers. Don't worry, it's not bowling like you used to in middle school. Chelsea Piers offers a more mature, upscale bowling experience, with dim lighting and food and drink service offered at all 40 lanes. If you and your significant other are looking for a bit more privacy on date night, you can book a private affair at the venue's Club 300. Bar packages are available. For more information, click here.

For the sportier couple, Chelsea Piers also offers batting cages and golf. And when you've already worked up a sweat, take a break with a cold one at the Chelsea Piers Brewhouse.
