New York City Mardi Gras Celebrations

Just because you didn't make it to the Big Easy this year doesn't mean you can't celebrate Mardi Gras in the Big Apple. Plenty of New York City hot spots are hosting their own festivities with traditional food and music, drink specials, and plenty of beaded necklaces.  By Carly Petrone.

Bourbon St. Bar & Grill is always serving up some serious Cajun flair regardless of the time of the year. Come to the French Quarter on West 46th St. for Hurricanes, a Cajun buffet, and live music. If you've had a little too much fun (bar stays open until 4am) you can even stay at their French Quarters Hotel directly upstairs from the bar.

For those New Yorkers who love spending weekend afternoons at The Frying Pan and can't wait until the summer, now's your chance to get on board! The Starboard Hudson will host over 1,000 people to an over the top Mardi Gras party on Saturday, March 12th. The event will feature The Chainsmokers and Kirill, two of the most sought out DJ's in New York City. Take it to another level and dress in your most festive neon rave gear for a chance to win a bottle of champagne. There will also be a raffle for open bar. Billy Hurricanes, the NOLA themed bar in the East Village is ready to showcase their love for Mardi Gras all week long. Stop by March 8-12th for free drinks between 7-8pm. They will be serving a variety of Cajun comfort foods (did someone say Po' Boys?) and plenty of NOLA drink specials. Don't miss out on their Pardi Gras Weekend Celebration on Saturday, March 12th.
