Corner Bistro


331 West 4th Street (at Jane Street)
7 days a week 2 p.m.-8 p.m.

At the Corner Bistro in the West Village, you may have to wait in line but it is well worth it for this hot spot with delicious burgers (one of the best in NYC for only $6.25) and yummy beers. There are booths in the back and tables in the front, or space at the long and beautiful bar where the bartenders have been serving drinks and burgers for years. You’ll also find $2.50 mugs of McSorleys.

Boxcar Lounge


168 Avenue B near 11th Street
M-W 6-10pm; Th 4-10pm; F-Sun 4-8pm: 2 for 1 drinks

Boxcar Lounge is more like a bar, located in the East Village with a small, packed bar. There are also corner nooks, couches and a patio for a smoking option. Creative cocktails are made here with champagne and sake for only $5, along with well drinks and draft beers for $5.
