Created by the same team who brought you the “Gotta’ Listen to Lonnie” song promo.
The CBS Innovation + Creation team in New York brings you a fun spot promoting their Weather Expert Lonnie Quinn with a nod + wink to the vintage action figure commercials of the late 70’s and early 80’s.
The team knew it was going to be a disrupter spot to cut through the on air clutter and immediately started the production planning.
These custom made figures have special features like “Roll Up Sleeve Action” and speaking “Pull String” “Lonnie-isms.”
Winter jackets , umbrellas and a CBS2 Mobile Weather lab completed the package.
“Our New York Weather Expert, Lonnie Quinn, rolls his sleeves up when a huge weather event is heading towards our Tri-State Area,” said Bruce Erik Brauer, SVP of Creative for the CBS Station Group. “That means Lonnie and the weather staff are about to get real and hunker down for a big weather situation.”
