Cory James is an Emmy award-winning anchor. He joined CBS2 as a general assignment reporter in March 2020.

Before moving to the Tri-State area, Cory was the weekend evening anchor for the ABC O&O in Fresno, California. While there, he traveled up and down the state covering wildfires, earthquakes, and presidential visits. He also received an award for finding surveillance video that helped law enforcement identify suspects accused of beating and kidnapping a teenage girl.  

Cory began his career in Santa Barbara, California at KEYT-TV. His first story involved reporting on the Isla Vista mass shooting that killed six people and injured more than a dozen others around the University of California, Santa Barbara campus. 

Cory graduated from the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication with a major in Digital and Broadcast Journalism, as well as a minor in Communication Studies. He also interned at CNN and WSB-TV in Atlanta. 

When not working, Cory loves to cook, rollerblade, and spend time with family and friends. He is originally from Georgia but has family in New Jersey and New York.
