7 Best New Year's Eve Dinners In NYC

Everyone knows that New York City is one of the best places to dine out. But where do you go on New Year's Eve when you want to celebrate with a special meal? We've narrowed down our favorite restaurants so all you have to do is make a reservation and show up. By Carly Petrone.

Attend The King's Midnight Feast at The McKittrick Hotel this New Year's Eve. Don your best black or gold outfit and sit down to a royal feast at Gallow Green & The Heath followed by a midnight masquerade celebration. There will be live performances and an open bar all night long. Hurry, tickets are going fast! Be a part of Maximillan's List and enjoy exclusive access to the Captain's Quarters during the masquerade. Event begins at 11 p.m. and tickets are $400.

Seafood lovers will want to book their reservation for a special New Year's Eve dinner at Catch. Whether it's a date night or a group gathering, you can get the party started with some seriously good eats including Oysters with Mango Yuzu-Caviar, Dover Sole with Maitake, Leeks, and Citrus Brown Butter Sauce, and Rice Cakes topped with Crispy Shrimp. For those looking for something heartier, try the Filet Mignon with Caramelized Onion Potato Cake and a Red Wine Reduction Sauce or the Potato Gnocchi garnished with Black Truffle and Brioche. You'll be ready to ring in 2015 with a full and happy stomach.

This iconic eatery in the theater district will be hosting three types of celebrations – The New Year's Eve Premium Package ($600), the New Year's Eve Package ($400), and the New Year's Eve Bar Package ($250). The Premium Package includes a four hour premium open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, a buffet loaded with their signature dishes, a live DJ performance, a televised broadcast of the Times Square ball drop, as well as a reserved private table with a complimentary bottle of Carmine's Private Label Prosecco. The New Year's Eve Package includes all of the above minus the private table and prosecco while the Bar Package includes admission to the bar and dance floor as well as buffet and dessert from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. Have fun in Times Square without all the chaos of the crowds.

If you're craving an Italian meal with a twist, head over to Sotto 13 in the West Village. Chef Ed Cotton is hosting a two-part New Year's Eve party. From 5 p.m. – 8 pm. diners can enjoy a four-course dinner with a menu that is perfect for the adventurous eater. Nosh on Truffled Beef Tartare with Quail Egg and Parmesan on a Crostini, or Chestnuts and Chicken Lasagna with Creamy Spinach, Wild mushrooms and Fontina Cheese. Top it off with some Warm Confetti Bomboloni (fried doughnut holes) with warm Nutella-Chocolate Sauce and head out for the night. Or stick around for a cocktail party starting at 10 p.m. with a complete open bar, passed small plates (think lemon-saffron arancini with smoked mozzarella and crispy chicken wing lollipops in agrodolce sauce) and a live DJ.

Make your reservation for one of two seating times (5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.) The first seating includes a four-course menu ($155/person) with everything from Roasted Octopus and Chilled Main Lobster as appetizers to Pancetta Wrapped Monkfish and 20-day Dry-Aged Sirloin for the main course. Choose from four different desserts like the chocolate caramel tart, buttermilk panna cotta, butterscotch glazed doughnuts, or the dark chocolate semifreddo. The second service ($220/person) has a menu for the real foodie – Wild Sturgeon Caviar with Chive Crème Fraiche and Egg Yolk, Roasted Foie Gras, Guinea Hen with Black Truffle, Wheat Berries, and Winter Greens, and Milk-Fed Porchetta with Mustard Braised Carrots, Black Trumpet Mushrooms, and Dates.

Brooklynites looking for a fancy feast can make their reservation for one of two seatings at Atrium in Dumbo. Your $325 ticket includes a four-hour open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, and party favors. Buck up for the Platinum VIP package ($500) and you'll get a great private table with a Central Park view, a bottle of champagne or vodka, and access to a raw bar tray.
