When the weather gets chilly, head to the bar for an eggnog cocktail to warm you up. New York has some of the best bars in the world, but which ones offer eggnog? And which ones make it right? Look no further — here are the top five spots to warm up (and booze up) for the holidays.
Death & Co.
433 East 6th St.
New York, NY 10009
The downtown bar is known for many things, including its super secret entrance and long wait to get in. The intimate bar has practically built up a cult following and with good reason — the drinks are amazing. You won’t find drinks made quite the same anywhere else, and the eggnog is no different. Combined with all the traditional ingredients, and then mixed with bourbon, cognac and rum, the mixture then melds together for three weeks before finally being served to you.
Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar
551 Fifth Ave.
New York, NY 10176
When you go to Tommy Bahama’s, you’re definitely not thinking of the cold weather outside. The entire theme of this restaurant is hot and easy island living. So to get in the festive but tropical mood, try out a favorite: their coconut eggnog martini. Made of Jim Bean, Cruzan Coconut Rum and coconut eggnog, this drink has been so popular that news outlets get the restaurant on camera every year to talk about it. If you’re really feeling chilled to the bone, Tommy Bahama’s is where you want to be.
129 East 18 St.
New York, NY 10003
If you want to go some place warm and historic at the same time, Pete’s is it. The oldest continually operating bar and restaurant in the Big Apple, Pete’s Tavern has been around since 1864. Their eggnog has probably been around for almost that long as well, and gets rave reviews. Mixed with rum, this traditional cocktail is the perfect drink for a cold winter’s night.

Del Frisco’s Grille
50 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, NY 10020
If you thought that skating in the ice rink and ogling at the tallest tree in New York City was all there is to do at Rockefeller Center, you’re in for a tasty surprise. Del Frisco’s is a classy bar and restaurant that serves tourists and New Yorkers alike. And their eggnog is to die for. Mixed with Godiva chocolate, Stoli Vanil and eggnog, and topped with chocolate shavings, this martini drink will give you the perfect pick-me-up from the winter blues.
111 Reade St.
New York, NY 10013
Ward III prides itself on being a cross between a swanky cocktail lounge and a neighborhood bar — both tempting options no matter who you are. The eggnog is homemade here with Maker’s Mark and sprinkled with cinnamon to give it an extra festive taste. If you’re looking for a traditional eggnog, Ward III is where to find it. A small hint of orange tops it off. If you find you’re looking for yet another holiday drink here, try the bar’s hot toddy or bourbon-spiked cider.
