THE DEFENSE

Q: Hi Alex! Welcome to Defend Your Ride New York. Can you tell us about your car?

A: It's a Nissan Altima, 2010. I got it from the dealership right on 11th Avenue in the 50s. It's comfortable. It's fully loaded. The Japanese make good cars.

Q: Any favorite features?

A: Probably the navigation. It makes it easy to drive in Jersey because Jersey is crazy.

Q: Do you drive to Jersey often?

A: Once or twice a month. I go out to Sonic or something. <laughs> Yeah! Fast food!

Q: That's amazing. Tell us a little about yourself. What do you do for a living?

A: Medical technology. I work for the Department of Health and train doctors on computer programs. I used to have to go three hours away for my old job, so I needed the car, but now it's in New York City.

Q: So now it's just a play car?

A: Yeah, an expensive play car!

Q: What's your favorite trip to take in this car beside Sonic?

A: Philadelphia, Boston, you know, not too far. I think Atlantic City might be the farthest.

Q: Are you a gambler?

A: I used to be. Not so much anymore. <laughs> I used to gamble, maybe too much.

Q: Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about this car? Any rules perhaps?

A: I prefer that people don't eat. I'm not going to throw them out, but I don't like crumbs. Anti-crumb! My pet peeve is when I give someone a ride and they leave trash in my car. I'm like, "Really? I just gave you a ride!"
