THE DEFENSE

Q: Hi Rachael! Cool Fusion. What can you tell us about yourself and your car?

A: I'm from Aspen, Colorado and my car is a 2007 Ford Fusion. I love my car! My godfather got it for me as a present when I graduated high school.

Q: That's so nice.

A: He really wanted to pimp it out. My mom got really upset and didn't want me to have all the new technology, because she wanted me to read a map, and all the other things.

Q: Did you end up learning those things?

A: I had to. My mom taught me to drive on a stick shift. I miss having a stick shift. That's the one thing I wish was different about this car. I get really distracted and bored when driving an automatic because you just sit there and do nothing.

Q: How do you beat the boredom? You can honestly say if you text.

A: [laughing] No, I don't text. I blare my music. I roll down my windows and just jam out.

Q: What's the number one kind of "jam out" music in your car?

A: You know what's always a good one? "Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz.

Q: Quite the winter soundtrack.

A: I have to stay really pumped up in winter, otherwise I get really depressed.

Q: It can get super depressing. Does your car do OK in the snow and all that?

A: Yeah, it's perfect. It has all-wheel drive. Pop on some snow tires and you're good to go.

Q: Alright, so why are you in the neighborhood today?

A: I live up on Bergen and Flatbush. I've been here nine months now.

Q: What's your favorite vacation spot to drive to around here?

A: I went to visit my friend in New Jersey. We had a really fun time at the beach. She lives on the most southern part, where you can still see the city from where she is. I also went to Far Rockaway and I actually really enjoyed that too.

Q: Did you go to Rockaway Taco?

A: Yeah, girl!

Q: If your car had a personality, what would it be?

A: It would run the world!
