Rudy's Bar and Grill

627 9th Ave near 44th Street

This Hell's Kitchen landmark could possibly be the most well known bar in The Big Apple (according to Rudy) – perhaps because it has been serving cheap drinks to patrons since 1933. Although this neighborhood dive has been around for decades, the free hotdogs are the real crowd pleaser. And what could make free hot dogs even better? Free Hebrew National franks!

There are about a dozen beers on tap – none that will break your piggy bank -- $7 gets you a pitcher of Rudy's Blonde Ale. And speaking of pigs, no trip to Rudy's would be complete without a picture next to the giant pig statue outside.

If you're into craft beers, this is the place for you. This Greenwich Village establishment offers a comprehensive beer list and a daily happy hour from11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., where craft & draught beers, glasses of wine, prosecco and mead (yes mead) are $1 off.

Every Wednesday, The Blind Tiger showcases offerings from local brewers and puts out a spread of free fromage -- nearly four pounds of different cheeses from Murray's and fresh Baguettes from Amy's. Note: Get there early because the free food doesn't last very long! Same holds true of the free hotdogs on Mondays.

You'll know you're at The Watering Hole (Formerly Tracy J's) if you find yourself staring at a giant elephant head as you make your way inside. Happy Hour is from Monday to Friday, 3 p.m to 7p.m., with a bountiful free food buffet from 5:30-6:30pm. The buffet offers everything from pizza to chicken wings to fries, but trust us -- the free grub goes fast!

Free pizza with a drink purchase. Let me repeat: You get a free six-inch personal pie with every drink (toppings will cost a few bucks) but if just cheese is your thing, it's on the house! This ain't just for happy hour either folks – free pizza with your drinks all night!

P.S. Sharpen your trivia skills for the Wednesday night trivia challenge. In addition to the free pizza, you could win free drinks! Whoever said nothing in life is free has obviously never been to the Crocodile Lounge! If you're in Williamsburg, stop by their sister bar The Alligator Lounge.

OK, the food may not be free, but 10 cent wings that come in a variety of flavors, is close enough. A friendly staff, delish super-cheap wings, big screen TVs and a pretty extensive beer list makes this one of our faves. If you're on Long Island and Jonesing for wings, stop by one of their three other locations.

Darbar Grill

This Midtown Indian restaurant boasts that it is "like no other" and perhaps they are correct when it comes to their free appetizers in the bar area from 5-8 p.m. Monday-Sunday. While sipping on discounted top-shelf cocktails and $4 beers, enjoy free samplings of the chef's choice, including stuffed mushrooms and vegetable samosas. Carnivores beware: The appetizers are vegetarian only.
