NYC's 7 Best July 4th Parties, 2013

Spend your Fourth of July on a Manhattan rooftop with a clear view of the fireworks display or pig out at a traditional backyard BBQ to celebrate Independence Day in New York City. Make reservations or book your tickets at these bars and restaurants offering specials and hosting the ultimate summer parties. By Sarah Shaker.

In honor of America's birthday, Riverpark's Chef Sisha Ortuzar will be preparing gourmet versions of your cookout favorites including smoked wagyu brisket, whole roasted pigs and his famous fried chicken. Cool down with ice cold beer from local breweries, "Red, White and Blue Sangria," as well as housemade iced teas and lemonades. Dance and mingle to music from Sea Monsters, Ski Lodge and Rocket & the Ghost and get active with games like bocce ball and ping-pong on restaurant's terrace, with views of the East River and the Riverpark Farm. Make your way atop the tallest building in SoHo for panoramic views of Manhattan within a 2,500 square foot rooftop space at SOAKED for their "Red, White and Juice" party on July 4th. From 7 p.m. -12:30 a.m. SOAKED at Mondrian SoHo will offer a beer and wine open bar from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. General admission tickets (includes open bar) are $95 with table packages starting at $2,500. All party-goers will enjoy the views, drinks and artisan popcorn during the fireworks. Stay for the after party downstairs at Mister H to continue your celebration of independence.

Hudson Sky Terrace

Sky Terrace has views of the Hudson River all the way down to the Statue of Liberty, making it an ideal venue to celebrate our independence. On the Fourth, tickets starting at $40 include a one hour open bar sponsored by Moet Hennessy from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. and table packages that are priced up to $1,200. This party will run from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with music by Rawse, J. Schott and Brandon James.

For a New England style seafood celebration or a down home BBQ, Mumbles is offering a "Fourth of July Clambake & BBQ." The Great New England Clambake includes Half Maine Lobster, Little Neck Clams, Mussels and Gulf Shrimp with corn on the cob and boiled new potatoes for $25 plus $5 for whole lobster. The Mumbles Picnic BBQ features Fried Chicken and BBQ Baby Back Ribs with corn on the cob, potato salad and coleslaw. There's also Blue Point Oysters on the Half Shell With Champagne Mignonette and Cocktail Sauce at $2 a piece. Enjoy any of these holiday meals with a wide selection of craft beer in their beautiful outdoor café.

Hudson Terrace 4th

Hudson Terrace is offering a family fun event for this all-American holiday. Celebrate at this spectacular open-air rooftop venue with some of the best panoramic views of the Hudson River, where the 37th Annual Macy's fireworks spectacular will be hosted. Enjoy live music from the ladies of the Bar Top Bandits, Dr. Zsa's Zydeco band and musical stylings from The Cut's legendary DJ, Niko. An endless family BBQ will be served from the Food Network's "Chopped" Chef Jordan Andino, and open-style cocktail bar brought to you by talented craft bartenders.

This sprawling barbecue joint and drinking hall with both front and backyard seating in Astoria, will host the "Do it For America" party to celebrate July 4th this summer. There will be live music all day, from 11 a.m. – close, $2 hot dogs and $3 Narragansett beers. This relaxed neighborhood joint will be a fun spot to relax with friends over hearty grub.

Spend the day in the LES at the First Annual Sons of Essex Beer and Bacon Block Party on July Fourth from noon to 7pm. A Berkshire Hog provided by Dickson Farmstand Meats will be roasting outside, porchetta-style. There will also be Southern-inspired side dishes and all you can drink craft beers, including Empire Brewing, Fire Island Beer Co., Ithaca Beer Co. and Keegan Ales. Enjoy as much food and beer as you can consume for $48 per person.
