Drinking and eating: Can you think of a better way to spend your weekend days? Ok, maybe there are more productive ways, but productivity does not always equate to better... With the winter keeping us cooped up inside, it's pretty easy to go a bit stir crazy. No need to go all Jack Torrance on us though; with the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival this weekend, you can escape The Shining-esc lifestyle you lead and have a great time out in the real world.

This Saturday (January 24th) you have the opportunity to enjoy unlimited samples of beers from breweries like Smuttynose and Heavy Seas, bourbons from distilleries like Garrison and Evan Williams, and delicious eats like Rout 66 Smoke House's Smoked BBQ Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps or Bourbon Street's Bacon & Bourbon Brownies.

More: Voila: Do you Like To Do It Yourself

If you're seriously struggling with the productiveness factor (or lack thereof) you don't have to worry; you can head to a seminar by master distillers, brewmasters and pit masters to learn a thing or two. If you want to feel truly accomplished this weekend enter (and win) the bacon eating contest. For those looking to have a great time without all of the edumacation and competition stuff, you can shake it off to live Bluegrass tunes. Does it get any better than booz, BBQ and bluegrass?

I'll help you out— No, there is literally nothing better.

With session 1 running from noon to 4pm, bacon fanatics can enjoy all of the above entertainment, along with over 10 additional tastings of gourmet bacon and southern favorites such as pulled pork, ribs, and fixin's. Session 2 is for those who can't get enough BBQ and features stations with amazing meat choices from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.

The last and most exclusive ticket allows attendees to enjoy both the first and second session (from noon to 9:30pm) and includes everything above in addition to a master tasting class with samplings of the six best fried chicken and three best biscuits in New York and the country.

Sure sounds better than going craycray by yourself in your apartment.
