More and more cities around the world are discovering that the LGBT community is traveling more and more. Because of this, several cities are developing gay-friendly communities, planning events and providing plenty of activities. In addition to providing exciting adventures for those in the LGBT community, many of these cities have fantastic tourism options for all visitors. This is what makes these cities popular destinations for any traveler.

San Francisco, California

San Francisco offers travelers a beautiful city to explore and gorgeous weather all year long. Those in the gay community love San Francisco, as it is the most out-and-proud community in America. Everyone who visits San Francisco is treated like they are at home and welcome. Being one of the world's most vibrant gay communities, San Francisco offers plenty of things for travelers to see and do. Visitors will want to make sure to stop by the Castro neighborhood, Union Square, the Symphony Hall, Opera House, the National AIDS Memorial Grove, City Hall and Harvey Milk Plaza. San Francisco is also home to many friendly shops, bars, restaurants, museums and hotels that are centrally located to many of the must-see attractions.

With beautiful weather throughout the year, it is no wonder why San Francisco has become a popular vacation destination. Many travelers of all kinds find their way to this city for both quick weekend getaways and week-long vacations. Those who have never visited the San Francisco area will be treated to some of the friendliest service and unique adventures.

Glasgow, Scotland

Those visiting Scotland will be treated to more than just men in kilts and a breathtaking coast. The fact that many of the gay bars in Glasgow are a bit dated is what adds to the charm and historic atmosphere the city offers. Not to mention the cobbled stones offer a unique vibe many of those in the gay community look for when traveling. In addition to the unique atmosphere Glasgow has to offer, all of the businesses throughout the city are very friendly and welcoming to visitors no matter what their sexual orientation is.

Must-experience activities while in Glasgow include taking a tour with Rabbie's West Highland Lochs and Castles, visiting the Kilchurn Castle, visiting the east end for gothic architecture, Baltic Chambers Building on Wellington Street, Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre, Pollok Country Park and Oran Mor.

Miami, Florida

Miami is the best way to experience the tropics of a Caribbean island without having to leave the country. In fact, there are so many beautiful beaches and non-stop nightlife spots that contribute to making Miami one of the top gay-friendly vacation destinations. Many in the LGBT community will find their own area of town where nightclubs are open late, often blending a night out into an early morning brunch. Pride is definitely found in the culture of Miami.

The South Beach – SoBe – area of Miami is where most of the action occurs and is home to many of the city's hottest night clubs. This area is definitely filled with tan bodies, bikinis and speedos as far as the eye can see. SoBe is definitely where the party is at.

With such a high percentage of LGBT visitors, Miami has become home to many cultural activities including plays, musicals and art museums. Must-see attractions in Miami include The Colony Theater, The Wolfsonian, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and the World Erotic Art Museum. In addition to the many cultural activities, Miami is also home to restaurants, hotels, shops and other attractions that are gay-friendly. All of this is what makes Miami a top destination for those wanting the opportunity to vacation like a celebrity.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Amsterdam has been known as the world's most liberal city, which is why so many LGBT couples plan their vacation getaways to this town. No eyes roll when a gay couple walks down the street holding hands in Amsterdam, which proves this is one of the most accepting cities in the world. Visitors will find plenty of things to do while here, including seeing the Homo-monument, which showcases the history of persecution against homosexuals. Other must-see attractions include Prinsengracht, the Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, Pathe Tuschunski Theater and Rembrandt's House.

The city is home to many gay bars and clubs where visitors can grab a drink and meet others while on vacation. In addition to club and bars, Amsterdam is also home to many gay-friendly restaurants, shops and hotels. Though Amsterdam is very accepting, the gay community is still a rather small part of the city's visitors. This is what makes Amsterdam a great place to visit no matter what your sexual orientation is.

Provincetown, Massachusetts

Located at the end of Cape Cod is the small town of Providence, aka P-Town. This is a very welcoming city and is known as one of the country's gayest little towns, with many visitors returning summer after summer. Since same-sex marriage was legalized back in 2004 in Massachusetts, Providence has become one of the top wedding destinations for the LGBT community. This charming town is home to many cozy bed and breakfasts and plenty of relaxing activities for couples to do.

This quaint little town offers visitors an incredible natural beauty and a unique style that, when combined, make this the perfect escape. Visitors can enjoy everything from biking to whale watching and shopping to kicking back in the one of the watering holes. For many years, visitors have been able to enjoy their getaways without the worry of having someone's disapproving eye look down on them. Just one of the many reasons that make Provincetown is one of the friendliest cities in the country.

There are many cities around the world that seem to be more accepting of the LGBT community. These cities offer a variety of activities, restaurants, bars and nightclubs that are geared with their gay customers in mind. Plus, these cities have learned to embrace Pride Month, showcasing several events and celebrations geared toward the LGBT community. Everyone, no matter how old or young, gay or straight, is sure to have an exciting time in all of the cities listed above.
