AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a motorcyclist has died after crashing his bike into a building on Long Island. 

Suffolk County police say they are investigating the accident. It occurred in Amityville at 8 p.m. Monday.

Police say 24-year-old Jorge Fernandez, of Copiague, was riding a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle.

The bike was impounded for a safety inspection.
