Artists vs. Writers Charity Softball Game

The 62nd Annual Artists vs. Writers Charity Softball Game will take place on Saturday, August 14, at 3 p.m. in Herrick Park, in the heart of East Hampton Village. Batting Practice starts at 1 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit three charities: The East Hampton Day Care Learning Center, Phoenix Houses of Long Island and East End Hospice.

Stepping up to the plate this year for the Artists will be Alec Baldwin, Christie Brinkley, Eric Ernst, Ed Hollander, Edward Tyler Nahem, Randall Rosenthal, B Smith and Lori Singer, among others.

On the Writers side, team members include Ken Auletta, Mike Lupica, Bill Collage, Carl Bernstein, Mort Zuckerman, Richard Reeves, Lynn Sherr, Rod Gilbert, Andrew Ross Sorkin, Gail Sheehy, Bonnie McEneaney and Maria Eftimiades. Reknowned sports Announcer Burt Sugar will be announcing the game alongside 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa, and James Lipton of "Inside the Actor's Studio."

The suggested donation for admission is $10. Families are invited to enjoy Snapple and concessions at the game and dozens of raffle giveaways. Limited edition 2010 Game T-shirts and hats will also be available for sale.
