Suspect Surrenders In Anti-Crime Rally Shooting

PATERSON, N.J. (CBS 2/AP) -- Police say a man wanted in the fatal shooting at a National Night Out block party in New Jersey has surrendered.

Marlon Rochester turned himself in to Paterson police and is held on $1 million bail, charged with murder.

Police believe the 30-year-old got into an argument with Robert Godfrey and shot the 39-year-old in the head on Tuesday.

Rochester's lawyer, Adolph Galluccio, says his client is not guilty.

National Night Out is observed across the U.S. as an annual event meant to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness.
