Car Wreck Leaves 3 Dead Upstate

OAKFIELD, N.Y. (AP) -- Three people are dead after a car wreck in Genesee County.

The accident happened just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Oakfield, midway between Buffalo and Rochester.

The county sheriff's office says the three victims were on their way home from a festival in Elba when their car hit a utility pole.

Authorities identified the 21-year-old driver as Joshua Durham, of Basom. He and passengers Allyson Galens, 20, of Stanley and Mattew Ware, 22, of Batavia, all suffered fatal injuries.

Genesee County Sheriff Gary Maha says investigators believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
