Missing Amityville Swimmer’s Body Found

DEAL, N.J. (AP) – Authorities have recovered the body of a New York man who disappeared while swimming at a New Jersey beach.

Deal police say the body of Joshua Nevarez came ashore about a half-mile north of where they 30-year-old Amityville, N.Y., resident was last seen.

Police say Nevarez was swimming with a woman at an unguarded beach when he slipped below the surface on Saturday.

Police say the woman unsuccessfully tried to pull Nevarez ashore. She was rescued by a passer-by.
