Police Trying To Find Manhattan Wheelchair Bandit
NEW YORK (1010 WINS / CBS 2 / AP) -- Police are asking for help to find a man wanted in connection with the theft of a tourist's motorized wheelchair.
Police said the 68-year-old owner is a stroke victim who was visiting from Florida.
He was dining with his daughter at Palm Too restaurant on Second Avenue on July 20 with the Jet 3 Ultra wheelchair parked outside when the thief struck. A witness spotted the man motoring away northbound on the sidewalk.
The suspect is described as approximately 25-30 years old, 5'8''-5'10'' and 160-170 pounds.
