NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — New York City police are investigating the shooting death of a 21-year-old woman in Queens that occurred early Monday morning.
Authorities said they found Chanel French around 3:30 a.m. Monday in St. Albans. The woman, from Virginia Beach, was shot 3 times – including twice in torso and once in the leg.
French was taken to Franklin General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
French was walking on 202nd Street with two men following a house party when a Mercedes approached and shots rang out striking the woman, 1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa reported.
Police said they believed the incident stemmed from a dispute at the party in the neighborhood.
One resident said she couldn’t imagine the pain caused to the victim’s parents.
“Can you imagine getting a phone call about your child,” she told Papa.
Another resident said he believed alcohol may have played a role in things getting out of hand.
“There’s a whole lot of gun violence going on in Queens, especially like at these…house parties,” he said.
No arrests have been made in the case.

I have not seen this shooting aired on MSN, MSNBC or HLN. They are excellent at solving murders..On Sept. 6, 2011, we will be in morning,one year and one year is long, From what Ihave read, there has been lots of shootings in that immediate area and parents, grandparents,cousins, sisters,friends,etc., are losing their love ones . for anyone to decide to pick up a gun or guns, put bullets in it or them, carry it around with them and decide to make a choice to go up to a human being (in this case, a girl) and shoot her THREE times and then RUN and then hide. Well, they are not as smart as they think that they are……We will allow someone else finish is story and they will———IT is television time.

they are in custody duh doesnt anyone watch tv if cops reveal too much then suspects know they are on to them be patient nypd is on it. clearly they know alot….no witness two men with her fight at party witnesses from party see who they were arguing with…watch the context clues PEACE SAV

What the family needs to pay attention to where she said she was going that evening and who did she say that she was chilling with. Does anyone she know live in that area or at the house party or in the area of the house party. Something just does not sit right about the two men not being injured or nowhere in sight to answer any questions.

what i dont understand is how do you no she was with 2 men and how do you no 2 men were in the mersadies if there were no witnesses ? nobody deserves to die like this . imagine if it was your cousin sister daughter , grand child something you would want anserws and you would stop at nothing to find them . how was there three people but only one got shot 3 times . please if anybody nos anything please come foward the family deserves some type of peace . please.
