S.I. Man Hurt After Boat Crashes Into Lake George Pier

HAGUE, N.Y. (AP) -- Authorities say a New York City man suffered serious injuries when his boat crashed into a stone pier on a lake in the eastern Adirondacks.

Warren County sheriff's deputies say 52-year-old Timothy Klinger of Staten Island was operating his 21-foot motor boat when it struck a pier late Tuesday night in the town of Hague (hayg), on the northern end of Lake George 75 miles north of Albany.

Deputies say Klinger was alone at the time of the accident and suffered head and chest injuries.

He was taken the hospital in Ticonderoga and later transferred to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont. He was reported in serious condition Wednesday.

Officials say they believe the crash was alcohol-related but the cause is under investigation.
