TRENTON, N.J. (CBS 2) — New Jersey is taking another crack at bringing home federal education funding.

The state has applied for a $268 million education jobs grant. The cash would go toward keeping teachers in classrooms. The state is all but guaranteed to get the money since the application met the deadline on Thursday.

Last month, New Jersey lost out on a $400 million dollar grant because of a mistake on its application.
