NEW YORK (CBS 2) — Jews across the globe were observing Yom Kippur Saturday, the holiest day on the Jewish Calendar.

Yom Kippur is also known as the Day of Atonement.

Observing Jews fast until nightfall and ask God to forgive them for their sins over the past year.
