Giants Jacobs Fined $10,000 For Helmet Toss

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for tossing his helmet into the stands against the Indianapolis Colts.

In a statement released by the Giants on Tuesday, Jacobs apologized again for tossing the helmet during the third quarter of the Giants' 38-14 loss on Sunday night.

Jacobs said he had "no business tossing my helmet" and he's "thankful that nobody was hurt."

General manager Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin asked to speak with him on Monday. Jacobs lost his starting job to Ahmad Bradshaw earlier this season.

Jacobs said he has "no plans to demand a trade." The only demand he's making is "to be the best player I can be and to help this team win."
