Fairgoers Celebrate Life After 50 On Long Island

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The 50 plus crowd was celebrating life on Long Island Sunday, WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs reports.

The 50 Plus Fair was a celebration of life. Organizer Barbara Kaplan explained: "We have everything from elder care to long term care to skin care to Medicare. And we have things that are anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and probably anti-anxiety. "

Dozens of vendors showed up at the fair to guide and meet the needs of the youthful 50 plus person.

Frank Trotta runs a vacation and tour guide business. "We don't realize we're whatever we're supposed to be. We're not our grandmother's or grandparent's 50."

Some at the fair even told Xirinachs that 50 was the new 30.
