Minority Business Owners Hope To Connect On L.I.

HICKSVILLE, NY (WCBS 880) - Several hundred representatives from minority owned business turned out for the Long Island Power Authority and National Grid first annual "Connector's Day" in search of business.

"It's an industry that we need to get more diverse suppliers into and they're gonna be able to meet with the buyers as well as the prizes of opportunities that they could get," the U.S. Commerce Department's Imani Bennett told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs.

Here, new and young business owners can find opportunities, says Bennett, and hopefully success.
