Favre Probable For Vikings Against Jets

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota Vikings have listed Brett Favre as probable to play against the New York Jets with tendinitis in his throwing elbow.

Coach Brad Childress said Saturday that Favre had an MRI this week that revealed only mild inflammation. He says the 40-year-old quarterback's soreness "flares up every now and again."

Cornerback Chris Cook is out this week after having surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee. Cook missed the first two games of the season with a torn meniscus in his right knee. Cook says his left knee injury is not as serious and he hopes to return more quickly.

Center John Sullivan is listed as questionable with a calf injury and tight end Visanthe Shiancoe is probable with a hamstring injury.
