LaGuardia Airport Boasts New Control Tower

NEW YORK (CBS 2) — A new state of the art control tower at LaGuardia Airport was operational Monday.

The $100 million facility replaces the old tower, which was used for more than 40 years.

The FAA said the new tower gives air traffic controllers better visibility, and has an advanced ground radar system that gives controllers better information about aircraft still on runways and taxiways.

    That is ugly..
    Why can’t they learn something about the Canadian design like the YVR tower, and many others in Canada which is a standard throughout. They’ll be amazed at what visibility really means…

    its probobly designed to resist a rocket propelled grenade so it can not be pretty.

    That is the UGLIEST tower i have ever seen. It looks like prison Guard Tower….. and is right over the GCP!! WIsh they had spent some of the $100 Million on the design!!
