NEW YORK (CBS 2) — As if the job market weren’t tough enough,  now employers are apparently looking for “purple squirrels” among their applicants.

Businesses are looking to do more with fewer workers, so they want people who are able to take on a wide range of duties.

Recruiters said they’re looking for the elusive job candidate, with exactly the right qualifications and experience, or a “purple squirrel.”

There is a down-side to these new job descriptions.  Even people with years of experience in their chosen field are no longer qualified to work in them.
