CHESHIRE, CT (WCBS 880) - Same sex couples from out of state rarely come to Connecticut just to tie the knot.

LISTEN: WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau reports

They tend to celebrate their marriage, hiring even planners to do it up big.

Candice Coppola started her business, Jubilee Events, in 2007, just a year before same-sex marriage was legalized in Connecticut.

She says business could not be better.

“I think everybody is really seeing full calendars, full schedules, venues, photographers, planners, florists. Everybody is extremely busy,” Coppola tells WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau.

Coppola says same-sex couples are mainly professionals who opt for unique settings and tend to spend about $30,000 on the big event.
