Jets’ Revis Has Sore Hamstring, Status Uncertain

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets coach Rex Ryan says cornerback Darrelle Revis had “added swelling” in his balky left hamstring, and his status for the team’s next game against the Denver Broncos is uncertain.

LISTEN: Revis on his nagging hamstring

Revis returned Monday night after missing two games with a strained hamstring, suffered in the first half of the Jets’ 28-14 win over the New England Patriots in Week 2. He said after New York’s 29-20 victory over Minnesota that the hamstring was bothering him throughout the game.

Ryan says Revis didn’t tell him the hamstring was hurting.

Ryan hadn’t spoken to Revis as of early Tuesday afternoon, but “hopefully he’ll be ready to roll” against the Broncos on Sunday.

yes. The firs five weeks of no or bad Revis has been the result of the hold out. But the next five weeks are the result of Ryan putting the decision on Revis.

Come on Jets Fans, I am one of you. Doesn’t Ryan deserve some gref? Because of his myopeia, we are going to be watch 3rd down conversions for the next month and a half.

that’s what happens when you hold out!

I know you all agree with me out there. If you do, or not, say so!!!

The Jets are to blame here for leaving up to Revis to decide if he would play. Now he will be dealing with this injury for the rest of his career. Congratulations, Jets. Do you think it was worth it? 4-1? Do you think you are one of the first Jets teams to get off to a hot start? There will be few games less meaningful for the playoffs that last night’s intra-conference game against the Vikings.

I could see this whole thing coming. Rex and Revis are two relative novices at this thing. Rex has never had to deal with this as a Head Coach in NYC. Revis has never had to exercise the discipline of sitting himself out of a MNF matchup to help heal a hamstring. Both of these guys needed help making the right decision. At least they neeed to talk to each other on game day. Everybody just assumed that these guys new how to handle this situation because they are good at what they do. It doesn’t work that way.
