Conn. Police: Bandits Nab Scarecrows Outside Museum
NORWICH, Conn. (AP) -- Police in Connecticut are battling a Halloween mystery after fearless bandits nabbed three scarecrows dressed in minor league baseball uniforms outside a museum.
Norwich police said the scarecrows wearing Connecticut Tigers gear were stolen this week from an exhibit by the Leffingwell House Museum, and the scene where the scarecrows once stood has now been taped off by police.
Beryl Fishbone, the museum's program manager, said she noticed the scarecrows missing Thursday.
Tigers officials asked that the scarecrows and the uniforms be returned with no questions asked.
The Connecticut Tigers, a single A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, is celebrating this weekend the ``Arts, Culture, and Heritage Weekend.''
