N.Y. Brothers Who Sold Heroin Sentenced
BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- Two New York brothers who acknowledged their parts in a fatal heroin overdose are going to prison for it.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jordan Dougher and 31-year-old Jesse Dougher, of Hudson Falls, N.Y., were sentenced Friday in Vermont federal court to 16 years and 12 years in prison, respectively.
They previously pleaded guilty to selling large quantities of heroin from a ring that operated in Glens Falls, N.Y., and Burlington, Vt.
The two sold the heroin that killed University of Vermont student Will Gates, of Skowhegan, Maine, who died of an overdose in March 2009.
