Thousands Come Out For Breast Cancer Walk

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one company is doing its part to help find a cure for the disease.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer begins Saturday. Thousands of women and men lined up at Pier 84 to prepare for the 48 hour walk, in which survivors and supporters will walk up to 26.2 miles to Randall's Island.

Sunday, they'll head back to the pier to finish the final 13-mile leg of the walk.
