Freddy ‘Sez’ Dead At Age 82

New York (WFAN) – The New York Daily News is reporting that a staple of Yankee Stadium for the past 20 years, Freddy ‘Sez’, is dead at age 82.

You knew Freddy ‘Sez’ was at Yankee Stadium when you heard the banging of his frying pan. That frying pan. Freddy’s pan was put in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004.

Freddy was also a regular through the years, at the Staten Island Yankee games, when the Bronx Bombers were on the road.

I remember Freddy from when I was a child. Having met him several times, I must say he was a really great, fun man. I’ll miss him at the stadium.

I remember Freddy, and remember pointing him out to my wide-eyed son, 7 or 8 at the time. A sad day in da Bronx.
