B&C Show Blog & Audio: Win-Win Baby

Bobby Dwyer

Boomer said it best (as he tends to do), from an NFL fan's standpoint, it just doesn't get any better than yesterday.  We'll get things started in the new Meadowlands, where it certainly wasn't pretty, but it was a win.  The Giants held off the Detroit Lions yesterday afternoon and with the 28-20 victory, improved to 4-2.  Boomer praised the play of Ahmad Bradshaw, who racked up 133 yards on the ground, calling him one of the most underrated and underappreciated running-backs in the league.  Those fans in the tri-state area that are Cablevision subscribers were unable to watch the game; or anything on Fox for that matter because of a money squabble between the two companies, luckily the Jets were playing on CBS, so that game was on TV.  Rex Ryan took his first place team to Denver to take on the Broncos and after falling behind the Jets used a 14 point 4th quarter to escape the 'Mile-High' city with their 5th win of the season and puts them alone atop the AFC East.  This marks the third week in a row that both the Giants and the Jets have managed a win…

Plus, an update from Jerry during which Craig takes a shot at Eli Manning, Carl Banks is good at what he does and Boomer is delightful, Boomer & Craig's up-coming 'man-date' at Yankee Stadium, Joe Girardi won't 'wiggle' AJ Burnett, Cablevision and Fox in a stare down, a Moment where Boomer gets a little physical with his radio partner and an 'Attention Grabber' with a set of piercing eyes…

Jerry got his first update started by talking about the Jets come-from-behind win in Denver and the Giants plodding victory over the Lions.  I suspect Craig got a little intoxicated with the success of his Jets and Mark Sanchez because he took an unprovoked shot at Eli Manning, questioning how good he was.  Boomer paid Craig's notion no-mind at all.  From there they shifted to a couple of other quarterbacks garnering headlines outside of New York, Brett Favre and Ben Roethlisberger and a preview of tonight's Game 3 of the ALCS in the Bronx between the Yanks and the Texas Rangers…

Boomer & Craig talked about what a great job former Giants linebacker Carl Banks (pictured above with Alyssa Milano - HELLOOOOO!!!!) does working as an analyst for the Giants games on WFAN.  Then Craig broke into character, donning his Giants cap and morphing into Tom Coughlin (step-lively).  After that Al told us about an interesting interview he read in a Buffalo newspaper where Boomer was described as being a delight to work with…

Boomer & Craig will be attending Game 4 between the Rangers and the Yankees tomorrow night in the Bronx and will be sitting right behind home plate.  The guys will get to see AJ Burnett up-close and personal and Craig vows to celebrate his first strikeout of the game (if it happens) by dumping popcorn on the Blonde Bomber.  Boomer was not a big fan of his radio partner's idea of a good time…

Regardless of what happens tonight at the Stadium, the Yankees will give AJ Burnett the ball for Game 4 against the Rangers tomorrow night, that according to Joe Girardi.  The Yankee skipper went on to say there is 'no wiggle room' here, meaning even if they lose tonight and trail the series 2-1, Yankees fans will be forced to hang of every pitch of one Allan James Burnett.  Boomer & Craig discussed the frightening scenario…

Al wasn't healthy enough to play in his co-ed flag football game on Saturday, or even attend the game for that matter, but he did muster up enough energy to go to the movies with a bunch of his pals to see the latest 'Jackass' movie.  Like Al, I am a Cablevision subscriber, so not only was I not able to watch any of the Giants game (which really didn't matter because I was in the car and just listened to Bob Papa and Carl Banks call all of the action of the home of Big Blue, Sports Radio 66 WFAN) but I also didn't get to see any of my beloved Phillies.  Boomer & Craig talked more about the blackout fiasco and the ripple effect it could have…
