Swimmers Brave Chill For NY-NJ Course
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- While some folks have put away their bathing suits for the season, others feel it's perfectly fine weather for a swim.
A few brave souls jumped into the water for the annual Ederle Swim Saturday.
Swimmers followed Manhattan native Gertrude Ederle's 17.5-mile swim course from Battery Park to Sandy Hook, New Jersey.
Lance Orgen came in first, completing the race in five hours and 10 minutes.
Ederle was the first woman to swim the English Channel.
