Brooklyn Student Struck, Killed By Car
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/CBS 2) -- A 13-year-old girl on her way to school in Brooklyn was struck and killed by a car Monday morning.
The girl was a ninth grade student at Canarsie High School.
Shortly before 8 a.m., she was hit by a vehicle at 1600 Rockaway Parkway off of Avenue K.
The driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to Brookdale Hospital and treated for trauma.
Police say they don't expect charges to be filed.
Grief counselors have been called to the school.
