"It'd be nice to get it over with so you don't have to answer any more questions," said Jeter of his contract situation. Cashman, meanwhile, said the negotiations were in their "infancy stages."

In Mets news, Carlos Beltran has finally come to his senses. Beltran said Thursday that he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause if New York came to him with a deal in place.

The Jets and Giants are both in action this Sunday. The Jets take on Craigie's (least) favorite head coach, Eric Mangini and the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, the Giants are at hosting the terrible Cowboys at the New Meadowlands Stadium.
