NEW YORK (CBS 2) — Here comes Santa Claus!

To kick off the holiday season, dozens of Kris Kringles suited up and took to the streets for the annual Sidewalk Santa Parade.

Friday morning, fifty of Santa’s helpers marched across 48th Street, up to Fifth Ave and to 59th Street – ringing bells to raise money to feed the needy.

The event is hosted by Volunteers of America, and has been a tradition since 1902.
