Clipping Coupons A Thing Of The Past?

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- You don't have to stay at home or inside the office to go high-tech holiday shopping on "Cyber Monday."

If you're heading out in search of the best deals at the mall you may not have to clip coupons -- just bring your smart phone.

Mobile couponing could save you bundle. Your mobile device could save you as much as 30 to 40 percent in some cases.

Coupons delivered through text message are the fastest growing trends. Stores like Toys 'R' Us, Target and JC Penny will send coupons to your cell phone -- all you have to do is log on to their websites and sign up.

Other stores can be found on hundreds of free apps for your iPhone and Android.

The service can allow you to hold up your phone at checkout rather than giving clerks a paper coupon and some will even track your location and give you coupons for the store closest to you.

Most major retailers will also allow you to put your rewards cards right on your phone.
