HAUPPAUGE, NY (WCBS 880) - They called him the leader of the Rim Reapers.

Darren Scales, 25, of Mastic, was sentenced Tuesday in a Suffolk County courtroom to 11 years in prison for stealing over $250,000 worth of rims from Nissans and Cadillacs.
Prosecutors said the parts were stolen from at least six dealerships and several homes between September 2009 and February 2010.
The District Attorney says it only took Scales and his four co-defendants about 30 seconds to take off and steal four rims, before selling the ill-gotten gains for thousands of dollars on the internet.
Scales is said to have a lengthy criminal history, with his first arrest coming at only 12-years-old.
